i hear it with engineering shit too people legitimately think that 'environmental efficiency' is what the MAN does to increase profitz because the old, energy-inefficient, shitty chlorofluorocarbon compressors in fridges from the 1950s still work today but modern ones only last around 10 to 20 years on average

the reason new copies of windows dont run well on decades old hardware is it's ineffecient for them to produce operating systems to be compatible with such a small market of people who are unwilling to upgrade

it's not some great conspiracy to make your hardware obsolete so you buy new stuff, it's just technology moving forward. they can't tug your pentium D along forever
