so im reading harry potter and

you know im kind of wondering how this book got so popular
i mean, it's good, but it doesn't seem like one of those books that'd become really popular, yknow?

then again, i'm only on book 1 so...

kinda like how percy jackson went, like, why is this so popular? its not garbage but its not the best

i mean yeah j.k rowling is good at what she does but it just doesn't seem like anything more than an okay fantasy most of the time. it's kinda like fanfiction in a way. it's okay, but it's not the best and a lot of the time it's just kinda bland.

i don't know why JKR still tries to talk about the series after it's over. like the 'well dumbledores gay' and shit she said about ron and hermione, like, who cares? the series is over so she's just pandering to fans who take their own headcanons too seriously

because it's how she makes dough, presumably.
