- WELCOME TO THE PONYVERSE
It was a quiet night in OT City - well, as quiet as could be in such a massive, sprawling metropolis such as it. RTCity was preparing to go to sleep, for it was nine PM and it'd been a very long and tedious day for him as he tried to get an actual job. He quietly approached his bed, when suddenly, from out in front of his house there came a large crashing noise. RT was hesitant to check outside, for surely it was only a car crash or something, so common in OT City that they were largely uncared for. But then, there was an abrupt knock on the door, and a ring of the doorbell. "Boo.", RT said in a soft, but annoyed tone.
RT walked all the way down the stairs of his house to the front door, along the way picking up a pencil and a small book which was completely empty. It was an awfully long walk for someone so tired as him, but he couldn't just ignore the door, as much as he wanted to, as it was probably important.
After what seemed like ages for him, he finally got to the door. It'd only been about thirty seconds, but it was absolutely tedious for him. He opened the door, and behind it stood John Shedletsky, and a fairly small Robloxian fighter.
"Hey you," John said, "get in. Time's a wasting here." RT gave John a very annoyed grimace, even though John was technically his leader and he was probably supposed to not do such things. "Seriously, John?" he asked, "It's nine PM, I'm tired out of my mind, and you want to bring me wherever, without explaining to me at all what you're doing or where you're even going?"
John only nodded his head, presumably not caring whatsoever for RT's sleep or things he had to do. There was a several minute long silence as RT pondered, but eventually he decided to just go with it. It wasn't like he had anything better to do anyways. "Fine, John. I'll go." He and John then climbed up the nose of the ship and hopped into the cockpit of the fighter. As John started the engines up, RT merely said one thing, "But John, at some point tell me where we're even going or what we're doing, okay?" A very bland and monotone "Sure, whatever." from John followed, and a moment later the ship blasted away from Offtopica, beginning a long voyage towards a tiny portal some two billion miles away.
Once they blew out of Offtopica's atmosphere, RT began to look around the ship. It wasn't a very big ship, it was, at most probably ten feet wide and twelve feet long. Normally, only one or two people would be inside a ship like this, but barring John and RT six others were crammed inside. Strangely, all those others inside - Dman12259, Hello777, Antneecb, Dogman328, Fastlane250 and Mrwens - were to some degree related to RT, or they soon would be. They decidedly were not there for the same reasons, however. The ship itself was pretty much all gray, barring the panels and buttons which dotted the very front of the cockpit. There was a small door at the back of the ship, and a seat for the pilot which John occupied, but besides that there was nothing.
At this point, John turned around in his seat, facing his seven passengers. "Okay, so you may be wondering why you're all here to-" "YES!!" shouted everyone, completely startling John. "Okay, okay, I get it. You don't have to blow out my ear drums. Regardless, we're going on an expedition to examine that portal which showed up a few days ago, and also to see where it leads."
There was pure silence in the ship, which was then broken by the sound of Fastlane speaking. "That's stupid." he said in an oddly monotone voice. Surely John realized that the idea was dumb, thought Fastlane, but he didn't seem to realize it, or care, hinted at by his incredibly nonchalant reply of "Perhaps, but who cares?" Fastlane just gave him a weird look.
"Well, now what do we do?" chimed in Hello, the sole girl in the entire group, and who had up until then remained silent. "It's a day long trip, so I dunno, sleep I guess? What else?" replied the still seemingly naive John. A collective groan ensued. "You mean you brought absolutely nothing at all to in any way make this trip less boring?" asked Dogman. "Um...". John was caught off guard by the question, and couldn't figure out how to respond. "So I take it that's a yes then?" said Dogman again. John just stayed silent, and promptly turned back around to continue piloting.
Another collective groan ensued, nobody wanted to be on this voyage, inside this cold, pathetic, metallic excuse of a space ship, traveling through Robloxian space at a ridiculous rate of speed. But yet, here they were, seven souls trapped in this... thing, and it was awful. Bored out of their minds, and with really nothing better to do, many of them fell asleep. RT didn't however, and in the dim corner of the fighter he journaled the events which had just transpired and the likes of it. After that little thing, he too fell asleep. John meanwhile just quietly piloted the ship. So came to an end a day of ridiculousness, and so began another day of annoyances and boredom.
It wasn't a very long time before most of the seven woke up again. They now found themselves, after seven hours of restless, thwarted sleep on the very uncomfortable floor nearly a billion and a half miles closer to their objective. It was surely just a few hours away from them, but it didn't stop them from complaining about their situation and how very uncomfortable the ship was, much to the chagrin of John.
It was understandable however, as every hour that passed seemed like a decade, which was torture to the Robloxians. It was likely only John's announcement - after five painful hours of day had passed since they'd woke up - that maintenance was to be performed on the ship's engines at some point in the voyage which kept the seven awake. But after an hour more, sometime around noon, on October 11th, 2010, after over half a day of voyage covering some two billion miles, they made it. The sight of the glowing portal - which oddly, was purple - was a sight for no doubt sore eyes.
As they neared the portal, all those inside the ship pondered of what greatness or interesting thing could possibly be behind it. Surely it had to be something like that, it had been such a long voyage that anything short of that would be treasonous. They drew closer and closer with alarming speed, and as they did excitement began to rise. Every one of the Robloxians braced for impact with the thing, and then suddenly, boom. They hit it.
Blam! The ship shot out of the other side at what had to be near to the speed of light, though they immediately slowed to a far more managable speed. Within seconds of entry, the Robloxians suddenly found themselves in a far-away land, where they had no idea of where they were, or where to go. "Where are we?" asked Hello, the first to question this odd and new place. Nobody responded, but a dozen more questions such as "What just happened?" and "What's that?" sprung up just as quickly as her question had gone.
After a minute or two of just sitting there, the inevitable question of "What now?" finally came up. In an oddity, everyone immediately and simply agreed to find the nearest planet and survey it. This was very doable, the nearest planet was only a few hundred million miles from the portal and could be reached by night, so they set off for it, in hopes of finding something. What they didn't know was, they'd end up finding so much more than they bargained for.
It was indeed late at night before they reached the nearest planet - a very odd colored planet. Most of the Robloxians were asleep at this time, so John began his maintenance of the engines. For all the genius he typically was, he wasn't that great at maintenance - at least not space ship maintenance. He slowly screwed around with many an engine component throughout the night, and by morning he'd finished his work. He had hardly slept in the last fifty or so hours, but he relaxed, feeling confident in his works on the engine,
As the morning began, everything on the ship seemed fine, the Robloxians were awake and went about their days as usual, and the likes of that. Nobody expected anything to happen as the ship neared entry of the atmosphere, but then, of course, something did. As the ship drew closer and closer to the atmosphere, a loud bang was heard in sequence with the ship shaking wildly. Only a few seconds later, it happened once more. John wrestled with the ship's controls while most every other person in the ship screamed in fear. Things were tossed about by the pitching and rolling of the ship while the Robloxians were holding on for dear life. Eventually John managed to get the ship "under control", in that he managed to get the steering semi-under control, but practically everything else was gone.
It was at this point that RT began talking. "John?" he asked, "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" "Nothing out of the ordinary, just some maintenance", John calmly replied. The ship began to slow down, but it surely wasn't enough to stop the ship or get it under control. Around this point the ship finally did enter the atmosphere, and the ship began to speed up again and hurtle towards the ground.
"John," said RT once more, "before we crash, I just want to say that I hate you." He and Antneecb then began to pull on the steering wheel with John in an attempt to stop the ship from hitting the ground.
They'd been losing altitude for only a few minutes, but already they could see the ground with reasonable detail just a few tens of thousands of feet below them. Beyond John, RT and Ant, nobody else was doing anything, either out of fear or inability to help. This, though understandable, didn't help at all. By the time they'd reached 10,000 feet though - at that point they were still hurdling with enormous speed towards the ground - it was far too late to do anything to stop the ship from crashing. John, Ant and RT were still trying though.
It was here - having broken through the lot of the clouds in the sky that day - they noticed exactly where they'd end up landing. Directly into what seemed to be a little town, though one dominated by a great castle. They were frantic now, trying - however in vain it was - to steer clear of the town, but it was too late. They were already grazing the mountain tops which flanked the city. The last words uttered at that point were "PULL... UP!!"
The ship hit the ground a moment later, instantly turning into a massive fireball of absolutely incredible heat. By depressing chance, the ship did pull up at the last moment, just enough to send the ship careening through the castle. Within a second of hitting the ground the ship was smashing through or incinerating anything in its path, all while emitting a massive, ear shattering bang. Townsfolk were startled by the crash, the fireball and the horrific sound, and fearing for their lives fled every which way trying to avoid it. The ship meanwhile came flying through the royal throne room and in an instant it was destroyed. The few guards in it were either incinerated without even knowing what hit them, or they were pushed away by a nearly three thousand degree ball of flame. Amidst it all the ship hit the throne itself, bringing it, along with the royal in it crashing over a seventy or so foot cliff, though not before crashing through several more walls.
Inside the ship the Robloxians were tossed about, as the vessel they were in was crushed and desintegrated around them. As the ship plunged off the side of the cliff, the eight inside of it likely felt as though they were going to die.
Upon hitting the ground some seventy feet below, the ship exploded into a massive fireball once more before doing a cartwheel and skidding to a stop. Behind and above it was absolute devastation, the castle was gutted and set alight, while small pieces of ship were scattered along a trail of several hundred feet. The ship itself was ruined. Many pieces had sheered off in the crash, leaving only half of it reasonably intact. The windshield was crushed, but not shattered, while the wings were in ruins with one having disappeared - probably vaporized outright - and the other being trashed into an unrecognizable heap of metal. The rest of the ship was a tangled mess, some of it on fire.
The Robloxians themselves were fine, mostly, if a little shaken up. The door to the ship was sealed shut however, trapping them inside the partially burning mass. With no apparent way out, the majority of the Robloxians accepted their fate. RTCity and Antneecb however decided to bang on the door with a very heavy fire extinguisher, and with a few bangs the door flung open. RT stumbled out first, followed by Dogman, then Ant, John, Fastlane, Dman, Hello and RD101. They stood amidst an unfamiliar land, one which looked nothing like their own. It wreaked of happiness, but of one broken by a raging inferno. The air smelled of fuel and burning fire, and a massive plume of jet black smoke rose above them, which greatly contrasted with the blue skies and white clouds.
In the distance, the muffled sounds of crackling fires, yelling, screaming and much more could be heard, giving the Robloxians an idea of the horror they'd just created. They were silent, the lot of them merely looked around at the maelstrom that was ensuing around them, while the rest observed the seemingly motionless body of the royal they'd sent over the cliff. Had they killed her? It certainly seemed that way, for her whitish body was covered in burns caused by the immense heat of the inferno, and she'd almost certainly - from the Robloxian's point of view - broken a few not all of her bones in the fall.
They went to check on her, 'they' being Hello, Dogman and Fastlane, but as they did, she began to move. It was a miracle, so thought the Robloxians, but if they'd known the mundane truth of it all, they may not have been so surprised, nor would they have thought it was a miracle. Regardless, the lot were stunned to silence by the royal as she cautiously - but painfully - got up. Every movement to her was unmitigated pain, but she bore throught it and succeeded in standing upright after a few moments.
The Robloxians watched all the while, surprised and shocked at the royal's ability to shrug off her wounds, and if they weren't, they surely were by her sudden tirade at them. Just after she got up, the royal stared silently at the Robloxians, and then unleashed all of her fury at them. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" she yelled at them in the loudest voice she could possibly muster. The Robloxians merely stood silent, with one or two giving the royal an odd glance. "GUARDS!!"
It was now that RT once again interrupted the speakings of someone he probably shouldn't have. "Whoa, whoa, hold up there. You don't have to send your guards upon us, woman. We're not here to ruin your day." The royal merely stood shocked and appauled at RT and what he'd said. For several moments she couldn't utter a word simply because of how absolutely stunned she was. After awhile though, she unleashing another verbal lashing at the eight strangers who stood before her.
"WHY SHOULDN'T I?!" she screamed, "YOU DESTROYED MY CASTLE, KILLED MY GUARDS, KNOCKED ME OVER A CLIFF AND HURT ME SO BADLY THAT EVEN MOVING HURTS TERRIBLY, AND YOU HAVE THE ABSOLUTE NERVE TO SAY 'YOU DON'T HAVE TO SEND YOUR GUARDS UPON US?!'" At this point the royal's eyes filled with rage, and she seemed as though she would just kill the eight outright, but before she could she began to calm herself, though she was obviously still mad.
RT then interrupted once again, and, presumably not caring for his safety or anyone else's, decided to kick what amounted to a hornet's nest. "Okay, even if you do have reasons, and you do, the guy standing right next to me, John, is a god who runs an empire of six billion, and if you arrest us, he will send them upon you. Isn't that right, John?" "Um...", John was hesitant, but he simply rolled with it. "Yeah." he said. "That's what I thought, John. Now then, royal, if you really want to take that chance, I'll just tell you right now that we could seriously destroy you and your world within a few minutes with our space ships."
Naturally, the royal was skeptical about what these foreigners, or perhaps aliens, were saying. It was hardly believable - to her, anyways - that they could really destroy the planet in a few minutes, but the way they said it made it sound all too real. She took no chances. "Fine," she caved. "I won't throw you in the dungeons for all eternity. You still haven't answered my question of what you think you're doing, and I don't think you've even told me who you are, sans "John"." The Robloxians again gave the royal an odd glance. The mission was secretish, at least to John, and wasn't meant to be explicitly told to anybody on John's orders, but it seemed like it'd have to be.
RT decided to spell it out, since nobody else could really be bothered. First though, he asked around, and naturally everybody denied, leaving him to once again speak for everybody. He always hated having to do this, and the only few times he did it before on the voyage were out of necessity, but now he had to do it all the time, and only because nobody else felt like doing it, not even once. He sighed.
"We were investigating some dumb portal which showed up in our universe one day, it lead to your universe, we decided to investigate the nearest planet, which was yours, then John obliterated the engines like a fool and here we are." The royal gave them a strange look, and under her breath she mouthed "Uh, okay."
For a few minutes, there was an awkward silence which filled the air, but it was broken by the royal speaking once more. "So, you still haven't told me who you are." It was finally, after nearly half an hour of nonsense and awkward silence, that the Robloxians began to speak - besides RTCity. "I'm Antneecb," stated the eponymous Antneecb. The rest of the Robloxians slowly introduced themselves to the royal, more often than not in an incredibly, incredibly awkward way, but they got it done. It was quite the display, and frankly, it amused the royal.
With the introductions over, the Robloxians began to walk away from the scene, which was still a maelstrom as it was an hour prior when they'd crash landed, but as they did, RTCity turned around back towards the royal and spoke one final time. "You never did tell us your name, royal." The royal responded in a soft tone, "Celestia. Princess Celestia."
With that out of the way, the Robloxians moved on from the scene of devastation which they'd caused. "That was weird." commented Mrwens. They were greatly confused by their experience with the princess, and also by the land which they were in. A massive problem also faced them, as there was the great question of where they should go now. For a good while, maybe fifteen minutes, the eight Robloxians pondered what to do and where to go, and eventually they just decided to follow the road.
This was likely the best option and idea possible at the time, as staying near to the castle would probably invite the assuredly angry citizens to exact revenge, while wandering the wilderness would probably kill everyone except John. So they left, leaving behind their ship and everything they'd caused that day. They weren't sure where they'd end up now, but surely it'd be just as great.
Their progress after leaving the mess behind was dreadfully slow. They walked for ages, hours, it was almost a sort of purgatory. All of them were weary, tired and completely bored. "Ugh, when are we going to get anywhere worth mentioning?" complained Hello, clearly tired of walking. "I don't know, just keep going." replied the equally weary Antneecb.
Finally, after what had to be at least six or seven hours of agonizing walking, night approached. They were so tired they could hardly walk, but they finally reached something. A tiny town of surely no more than one thousand residents. It was puny, really, but the Robloxians didn't care. Exhausted from hours of walking, they set up a camp on one of the hills overlooking the town before they drifted to sleep.
Morning came before long. It was rather unsatisfactory for the Robloxians, most of whom were still tired out of their mind. They lounged around for hours, with no apparent desire to go anywhere or greet the villagers. Once they got over the tiredness though, which was after most of the day was over, they began to trek downwards, slowly.
It wasn't a very long walk downwards, it was only a few hundred feet. They noted - even before doing anything - that everything wreaked of the olden days, times which had long passed in Robloxia's empire. None of the houses seemed to be built of anything the Robloxians expected, perhaps barring wood. Many homes to the Robloxians seemed makeshift, in fact. It was of great contrast to the grandiose royal castle which they'd seen the day before.
The 'people' who dwelled in this land were hardly 'people' either, they were horses. The Robloxians had merely believed the royal they'd come across earlier was just an isolated thing, but instead they'd found an entire town of them. It was, in blunt terms, like an acid trip, or perhaps a dream.
So they entered the town. It was fairly quiet that day, October 13th. The sun shone brightly and the wind was still. The towns folk just quietly observed, perhaps whispering amongst themselves in recognizable English, but otherwise nothing from them. It was, to a degree, rather unsettling for the Robloxians. They were cautious at every step, they knew nothing about where they were or what these things were. It was probably this cautiousness which spared them many an odd question, but it also heped them find plenty of insanity.
They also traversed the area. Little was special here. Only some forests and hills, not much more, so they trekked back to the tiny town they'd come across. It was only then that something happened - finally. A quiet day for the Robloxians soon became one of much talk. The Robloxians finally had a chance to sit down and actually discuss the day.
"That was AWKWARD." emphasized Hello. "We just got glared at by probably every... uh... thing in this town." Ant was quick to add on. "It was humiliating!" RT gave them his typical trademark annoyed expression. "Who cares?" he asked them both. "We've not the faintest idea where we are right now, and we're stranded to boot. I think that takes higher priority - finding where we even are - than caring about being glared at by some horses."
There was a brief silence over the Robloxians before an unfamiliar voice was heard ringing out. "Hey!" the voice called. The Robloxians were confused, who could that be? It was in fact, a resident of the town. The resident was purple, and it seemed that she was defying all common sense by being purple, but that hardly mattered to the Robloxians, all they cared about was who she was and what she was doing here.
She walked up the hill the Robloxians were on, and stood before them. "I noticed you few this morning, but I never got the chance to talk to any of you." she continued. "Wait," interrupted RTCity, "who are you?" "Oh," replied the resident.
