spoken: latin>italian>spanish>japanese>arabic>russian>german>shit>chinese>french>gay conlangs

usefulness: spanish>chinese>french>latin>everything else>japanese>shit>any constructed languages

interestingness: latin>nihongo>any constructed languages>everything else>shit

except it's not expected in every high school haha and even if it was that wouldn't mean shit, most high schools offer theatre that doesn't make theatre the most important thing ever

it doesn't have any use anymore because nobody speaks it as their first language

english and chinese are the two languages that'll bring you power, anything else is a waste of time

everyone that doesn't speak english as their first language is learning it, it's close to achieving the "universal language" concept that esperanto was gunning for

i'm practically obligated to taking spanish as a foreign language as my school feels as though it's the only other language worth learning

chinese is so damn useful because china is such an economic powerhouse but there's a bottleneck in native english speakers translating chinese because it's such a complicated language, being a native american + english speaker and knowing it will get you anywhere and anything you want in china

shut upppp you can understand all tha refranses and finding the etymology of any word is easy etc etc there's lots of reasons why it's relevant and you'd understand if you took the class
