5:4 is much better for a square screen (1280x1024 is perfect for any screen size in my experience) 4:3 can eat my balls

16:9 is the standard but it is intended for broadcasts and movies not for computer use 8:5 is much better for bigger than 21 inch monitors

i think 5:4 is the same thing as 4:3

anything beyond the scope of 4:3 where it's all widescreen looks ugly as sin especially if you have applications running fullscreen
