They then proceed to fuck up everything, removing features because of HURR EASE OF USE DURR USER FRENDLY DURP even though those features were used faily by many people. GNOME 2 was perfectly good and fine to use and then these retard devs fucked it up the ass for no discernible reason. What the fuck were they thinking? And don't give me all that old "derp get with teh timez grandad xD" because change for the sake of change is fucking spastic, and so are you.

it's already both of those things

KDE4 is absolutely destroying GNOME right now and people are starting to realize there are other DEs out there that are way better than either (GNOME 2 used to have a total stranglehold over desktop environments, like a 80% market share with KDE at 19% and everything else at 1%)

linus torvalds recently took to google+ and bashed the fuck out of GNOME 3 and said something like "friends tell friends to use KDE4"

GNOME 3 sucks and its developers hate their own users
XFCE is really really basic and a perfect case of false advertising - its not 'lightweight' at all
LXDE is the same case of XFCE but not flase advertised, it's good for old hardware but really really simple and lacks any kind of depth or customizability
tiling WMs are a fucking joke
openbox is going to shit
blackbox is dead
fluxbox is dying
MATE is alright but it's way under the radar of the mass public and it's under-developed, also the development team is a joke (head of the project is a touhou fag from archforums), also this:
