if you're going to do a school essay it's going to have to be either raw text or something Microsoft Office can open anyways so you may as well either do it at sk00l or use Notepad or maybe like Wordpad even though it's gay

visual studio goes up and then down because you have to learn to do everything in the shittiest way possible and then two years from now you'll learn some obscure but faster/superior method of doing it and everything becomes fifty times easier

vim is the best just for the fact that it intellegently colorizes configuration files

it doesn't fucking matter what the program is or how obscure it is, it can just magically read what is what and what goes where and it makes life soo much easier
