& When I say "fan" I'm not implying that I'm some sort of drop dead, every day I have to watch it fan. I just enjoy it here and there.

yeah it's a shame how anime is limited to only a few genres

i mean i watched gurren lagann and it was fucking awesome but it's a shame how there's nothing like it out there, and all the cute-girls-doing-cute-things anime are full of horrible pedophile-pandering fanservice sexualization bullshit that kills any and all appeal, and the rest is dark and barbed shit for middleschoolers

anime has probably the worst signal:noise ratio of any form of entertainment

Yeah, a few of my favorites are Witchblade, Shakugan No Shana, and Elfen Lied. Witchblade has an amazing plot, but its illustrations were generated to appeal to men, generally. Her "costume" is slutty as fuck, and then there's the perverted old man and all that jazz.
Masane Amaha is from Witchblade.

I have to get passed the ignorant bullshit intertwined in some of the shows before I can watch them. Some of the I just can't get passed it.

I was never really in to the whole dark-based anime. It's usually pretty lame.
