I heard from people who torrent movies, that in terms of scenes that happen in the dark, 1080p shows it better.
I'm more than happy when I had a tiny television in my room. The only problem is since companies make bigger and bigger TVs, people who buy them will need better quality videos but that still seems pretty niche to me. 480 is good enough for my CRT monitor when watching a fullscreen video (being able to play them at 720p without any problems is a great bonus). I get how 1080p would be great for those with larger monitors but how big would your monitor have to be if you want 4k/8k?
