most 8th graders shouldn't be trying to bench and work on muscle building lots of high schools in the us have more than enough courses to choose from even if you were held back for another four years

at my middle school we had like five different classes we could pick for one period and that was it

there's lots of important things you need to be taught to work with any weights - even pullups and pushups have proper form

if you have the wrong grip (suicide grip and lots of people who don't know what they're doing will naturally use this) with a bench you could kill yourself

The former is perfect for what our bodies are actually designed to do.
The latter is mostly just for vein people trying to show off unless you need to lift boulders or some shit.

we actually did weights in PE at our middleschool and it went fine but it might go over differently in the US because of how fat and out of shape murikans are, your scooters might break down from the added weight of the things your trying to lift
