the only proof i've ever heard of ea being responsible for games being fucked up is from devs conveniently after players got pissed

what does ea have to do with the devs being indecisive nerd? ea publishes the game and if it was DELAYED then its obviously the dev's fault what publisher is going to say 'delay this game for 2 years'

if there's a company that really dropped the ball recently though it was that one bank that foreclosed on the wrong person's house who wasn't even a member of their bank (think it was boa)

so criterion makes a lot of really good games and then EA buys them out and all their games suck. there simply cannot be any relation
