Magician is a fucking retard and needs help

Okay, my skill level with computers is generally a thin line between complete incompetency and being barely competent to put it generously so bear with me if I ask something fucking stupid.

Anyway, I don't have enough money to put together a proper computer yet so I'm still bound to my laptop but I'm looking to change the graphics card because with the exception of my laptop having the integrated Intel HD Graphics it should not have problems running most games on the minimum graphic settings and I'm kind of sick of low fps issues on the few games I do play.

So, basically I was wondering if any of you could point me towards a decent laptop graphics card because I'm kind of getting overwhelmed trying to get my head around some of the shit I'm looking at.
I could install it just fine but I'm just having trouble with recognizing what's good and what is not.

I can give the Motherboard details if that's needed and it probably is.

yep you can painstakingly desolder the ball grid array and buy a new one or you can use an external gpu solution which requires carrying a desktop video card case and power supply around connected to your thunderbolt/external pci/expresscard port

also building a computer is normally pretty useless unless you're a real enthusiast. contrary to what ~PCMASTERRACE~ will tell you workable prebuilts can be very cheap

I haven't looked at laptop motherboards too much but IIRC there have been a few I have seen where the graphics card was removable/replaceable.
The vast majority of my experience with building shit has been with desktops so I'm mostly going on my experience with those but I do think some laptop motherboards do allow you to switch the graphics card.

If I'm wrong then I guess I need to throw together a desktop sooner than expected.

It's fucking weird you could throw all the parts at me and I could put a computer together working perfectly easily but if you showed me two sets of parts to put one together and asked me which to go with I wouldn't fucking know.

A+ is a certification that you know your baby steps in how computers work and how to work with them. so like, putting parts together and all of that

It isn't A+ but it is a kind of basic level.
Outside of the hardware side of it there's web development, computer architecture, networking and the like.
We also have to do a maths module which sucks.
