is WAV raw audio, e.g not encoded?

it's uncompressed, but the data is stored in pulsed 'chunks' using this format

oh GOD i had to deal with the image form of .RAW in le photography back in junior year its hellfire and explosions

yeah i don't see how raw files would be hard at all you just format them or encode them
