I consider myself somewhat of an expert on Bitcoins (from what I've read on Reddit). The solution to the crash is amazingly simple- Bitcoins are electronic, so just right-click on the Bitcoins and Copy and Paste. That will double the value and stabalize the market.

This, coupled with the limited liquidity that exists right now, introduces the possibility of a catastrophic collapse. It is hard to move more than $10,000 in BTC very quickly even if you are using multiple exchanges. This means that if there is a serious drop and a rush to sell then people won't be able to sell their BTC as fast as they want. This leads to a panic where people start selling way below asking prices in order to guarantee that they can sell their coins.

I don't think it is particularly likely, but I can easily imagine a universe where BTC is at $3.00 in the near future.
