- The Idiri War (1463 - 1468)
In 1463 the Arieles Kingdom began a campaign to eradicate action and nations percieved to be threats to the Kingdom. The campaign, called the "Orsojeska" resulted in the assimilation of ten kingdoms and other such nations into the Arieles Kingdom. But, in 1463 the campaign ground to a halt, thanks to the actions of the Idiri Kingdom, a group of seperatist Arieles who seceeded from the Arieles Kingdom about two decades prior to 1463. When the Arieles Kingdom came to annex and incorperate them, the Idiri resisted and attempted to drive the Arieles out of Idiri lands. Instead of driving them out of the Kingdom, they merely succeeded in causing a full on war between the two kingdoms. On May 18th, the day after the declaration of war, the Arieles sent in their militia core to invade the Idiri Kingdom. This preliminary invasion caused the Idiri great trouble, as they weren't prepared for the invasion. They were thoroughly curbstomped back to their capitol of Iyasofyleka, where they only just held back the Arieles forces. For three years this was all the war was - the Arieles camping outside the Idiri capital and the Idiri trying to hold out - but on July 9th of 1466 the Idiri couldn't hold out any longer and they were taken over. While they were soon annexed, they continued a guerrilla war until 1468, when they formally surrendered to the Arieles Kingdom. In the war time, an estimated six thousand Idiri were casualties, to only 1,320 Arieles.
The Pyatras "Wars" (1970, 1978)
In July of 1970 the Arieles Kingdoms' peoples were growing unruly with the Pyatras' unruly antics in the Posiijek Provincial City, and as such the Arieles Militia were called in to the city on September 2nd, 1970. This wasn't quite taken well by the Pyatras and so began a war of sorts in the city. Starting on September 3rd, a fairly reasonable conflict between the Arieles and the Pyatras ensued throughout the city, killing a few hundred and injuring thousands of others. The conflict ended with the Moordes Treaty on October 12th that same year, the war having officially killed some 1,493 people and injured 3,068.
The second war began in 1978, on June 6th. The conflict began as a result of percieved bias against the Pyatras Arieles, and occured when the city of Kasojavilye rose up against the Arieles government, prompting an Arieles response - sending in the militia forces, again. The city of Kasojavilye resisted heavily to the Arieles government, and the militia, but by mid July the rebellion had been put down. A total of about 45 were killed in all, with 300 wounded and nearly 600 jailed by the Arieles government. The rebellion was the largest non Stjetim rebellion in sixty years.
In total, about 1,540 were killed and some 3,360 wounded by the wars, while 1,100 were jailed.
the Arieles and the Kryfona, a History of Wars
The Arieles and Kryfona have a history of wars which goes back for centuries.
· First off, we have Keltusz's War, from 1563 - 1564. This was the first of many.
· Second was the Joszyke War, from 1583 - 1590, this was another of the first wars.
· Then came the Zojorat War, from 1632 - 1635. This was the first war the Arieles won.
· Next, the Taszyja Wars, 1699 and 1703 respectively. They were both brief wars, lasting only two and four months.
· The next war was the Kisoani War, from 1706 to 1709. The war was rather bloody compared to the other wars, which had largely been bloodless.
· Then we had the Seuyastazal Wars, which lasted from 1710 to 1716, and resulted in Seuyastazal becoming Kryfona territory.
· After that was the Korusso War, from 1758 to 1760. This resulted in nothing besides a small addition to Seuyastazal.
· Shortly after this was the Kumiyksz Conflict, 1763-1764. Again, little resulted from the war.
· It wouldn't be until 1831 when the next war, the Vidoje Conflict broke out, it lasted from 1831 to 1832.
· Then was the Majszyx War, from 1836 - 1850. It was - and still is - the largest and longest Kryfona-Arieles War.
· Finally, in 1901 we had the Kojsiyek Conflict. It lasted for just 3 months.
The 15th of August: A day of tragedy
August 15th, 1963, the Arieles Kingdom. 15 are killed and 21 injured in the worst shooting in over 35 years. The shooting was committed by a disgruntled Pyatras, in revenge for the 1961 Pirojan act which legally segregated Pyatras from Arieles.
On August 15th, at 8:16 AM, the perp, Sojiecz Apirsojon walked into the Ariejan Marketplace, pulled out two weapons and went on a thirty minute long rampage, killing 13 and wounding 21. Two more would die of their injuries later on, bringing the final toll to 15. The shooting was unlike anything that had ever occurred in the Arieles Kingdom, while there had been other shootings before, none had been committed in the way this shooting was. The Arieles were quick to learn from their mistakes and later on in 1963 the Pirojan act was repealed unanimously.
THE 23RD OF JULY, 1993:
The 23rd of July, 1993. A young Arieles by the namee of Vado Ijeni decides to follow in the footsteps of Sojiecz and shoots up a tiny market in Iliorafili, the capital of the Arieles Kingdom. This time however, due to more recent developments and due to what was learned from the 1963 shooting, only two were killed and eight wounded. This great decrease in casualties was largely thanks to new technology and remembering the tragedy of '63.
The Phyranak War (1678 - 1681)
The Phyranak War was a three year long war between the Adborthos and the Kryfona. It, despite its length, was a fairly bloodless war, with only 1,500 casualties in all. The conflict began when the Adborthos spread in to Kryfona territory illegally. The Kryfona, not particularly pleased by this, warned that war would break out if the Adborthos did not cease and desist immediately. The Adborthos population didn't listen, despite government warnings, and so on May 3rd, 1678, the Kryfona Kingdom invaded the Adborthos Republic. Resistance was minimal, and there were only four battles in the whole war, three of which were centered around Ratinethos, the Adborthos capital. The other was situated in the border town of Edethos-Sarat, where the Kryfona Kingdom forced an Adborthos militia contingent to retreat. In all, the war killed about 300 Adborthos and 79 Kryfona, and injured about 730 Adborthos and 500 Kryfona.
AFTERMATH:
Most of the Aftermath was centered around Ratinethos, where most of the war was fought. Approximately 400 buildings burned to the ground in the siege of Ratinethos. Much of the Adaterok Neighborhood burned down after a stray fire bomb was set off by an unknowing villager. Nobody was killed, but at least 55 were injured in the fire.
The Irdinaka Standoff (1953)
In 1953 tensions between the Kryfona Kingdom and the Arieles Kingdom were running high, and diplomatic relations were at an all time low. The armies had been mobilized, and civilians were weary about the situation. As mid June rolled around, the situation intensified when an Arieles trooper was shot and killed while attempting to cross Zisoja Bridge in to Seuyastazal. This outraged the people and the government of the Arieles Kingdom, and lead to Arieles forces being stationed on the Arieles side of the bridge and river. This originally wasn't an issue, but then on June 29th another Arieles trooper was shot - albeit non fatally. This lead to a border skirmish, and nearly a war, and it also prompted the Kryfona to send their own force to the bridge. The standoff had begun, and it would persist until August 14th.
July 3rd brought another border skirmish, which killed 5 and wounding about 35. Arieles citizens living near to the bridge were slowly evacuated as a result. The Kryfona meanwhile brought in reinforcements and proceeded to close the border crossings. Things slowed down after that - at least until July 14th when another skirmish broke out. That skirmish killed four and wounded sixteen. Around that point the standoff cooled down and there were no more border skirmishes. On July 17th most Arieles forces were pulled out of Zisoja, leaving about 450 Arieles to defend the bridge. The Kryfona conversely pulled out of Seuyastazal, mostly. By July 23rd the standoff was largely political, since most of the troops had been pulled out. This would be how the standoff would remain until its conclusion on August 14th.
