i think fd should also realize the amount of updates compared to your average android vs iOS

usually the updates get buttfucked on android due to either the lazy ass manufacturer, the carrier, or both. that's why the android 2.3 userbase was so high for a long time. those suckered into a contract with a 2.3.4 based phone (including me) were unable to receive updates from pretty much any manufacturer. the majority of android phone manufacturers just have a knack for abandoning any hardware they deem obsolete, even in the slightest. at least apple tries to actually work with older hardware that they put on the market in the past. like just the fact that the iPhone 4 is still getting updates whereas a 1 year old android phone isn't really shows the barrier between these two.
