i had a pretty wicked teacher in 5th grade, in this honors program where basically da 'gifted' kids would get pulled out of class every couple of days and we'd do some 'advanced' work for no reason (no marks or anything to it). it was stuff like math brainteasers and that shit. and our teacher was SUCH A BITCH. she HATED the boys and she sucked up to all the girls in the group. in the end she basically kicked the boys out of the group and continued to flatter all the girls. it was dumb as fuck

it was pointless but it was supposed to be a breath of air for "bored kids" also literally all the kids are just barely not in sped so it's also like an environment where they feel relaxed
