even if it was cheap as balls they could sell it for a huge markup because people are totally willing to pay for shit if they think the hardware is better/faster

5% speed increases warrant $50-100 price differences to nerds who buy le gamer hardware for their epic gamer pcsz so i don't see why the losers talkin shit about their samsong galaxy s52's QUAD CORE PROCESSOR won't do the same

you can't just patent having X amount of coress

you can patent the method to actually achieving something like that but companies will find workarounds like they always do, it's like how apple patented the "page flip" animation for e-book readers and yet it's still common among most of them because they changed a pixel or added some meaningless detail to it

spinny you bemoan patents so much but you dont realize how worthless they are

software patents are more harmful because they're like if i copyrighted this sentence and then sued the living shit out of anyone who repeated it but most of the time they mean diddly shit and lawsuits over patents get shot down like a missile from NK on a nearly daily basis, software patents are more of a ethical or free speech issue than an actual problem for content publishers
