i messed around with a vm for a while and then got bored and went back to dual booting and installing operating systems on bare metal hardware like a real man

servers can virtualize operating systems and tasks with hardware assistance and only if they're programmed to in the first place

it's like nvidia/ageia's physx bullshit except no networks really need it from what i understand

why do people keep talking about twelve core processors and overclocking their testicles

the people you see pushing it are companies that want to push it like vmware and intel

wikipedia explains the concept well

you can do it in software and it's been done for half a century

tossing hardware acceleration is useless because servers aren't trying to run kubuntu in a microsoft virtual pc vm
