mean little things from back in the days that have thousands of gigabyte-sized files compressed into a super small archive by taking advantage of the way compression works

from what i understand based on some dude's explanation zip compression searches for repeating patterns so a 5gb file consisting of 10000001 could be compressed to 10e1 or something

extracting or trying to scan them with an antivirus is impossible unless you have a few petabytes of storage/ram

that only seems like an issue if you're using btrfs, because it runs into big problems when all disk space is used (it needs to do something like journal or write to some other file when it deletes a file, and it can't write when everything is filled so everything goes to hell as it tries to delete the file and i think it causes a kernel panic)

trying to extract 300 petabytes of files will fuck up your shit on ntfs and any other file system as it decompresses and converts all those compressed 1's into literal sextillions of 1's

it's the equivalent of a fork bomb except packed into a file

hex editor would probably be the easiest

take advantage of the fact that a file in binary as 1000000000001 can be compressed into 1numberofzeros1 so make a file called abbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb(one quadrillion times)a i guess and then zip them up a billion times into other zips
