thats could be whats happening at my school too cause i did one of those in grade 8 and we did ICEBREAKING ACTIVITIES!!!! and a shitty tour run by the student council
i dont even think the principal was there that day

at our school they do a gradual trickle of kids coming in during the days leading up to summer where they just walk them around and show em stuff
the kids are too intimidated to cause trouble usually
