scaled engineering is cooler and more science-like

NANOscale engineering puts us near molecules which allows us when mastered to control and assemble materials and objects at said level which can be used to make 'printing' solutions that would allow for the printing of pretty much any material provided you gave the raw resources required

picoscale engineering puts us at actual atoms which would mean you can directly manipulate the structure of a material or completely alter how something behaves

femtoscale engineering is something I've never even heard about but it's so small that it would probably involve quarks or something and since the above is messing with atoms I imagine this is the Intel-step when things become needlessly complicated and more expensive

it means you can shove your cock in something specifically designed for shoving your cock into it because the individual atoms were messed with and it's also probably invincible
