it doesnt help their language is one of the hardest to learn in the world unless you happen to speak some mandarin or something

but yeah the main problem is that they're trying to fit six different tones into a latin alphabet and to do this they have to use diacritics

but of course vietnamese being fucking vietnamese; sometimes a word will have two tones in it; so theyre forced to add two diacritics to a letter about a third of the time which creates a massive clusterfuck for writing vietnamese out
