i'm worried and scared about what's gonna happen to us in the future

our population's pretty small

we got people leaving

we can't really advertise since almost everyone on rot is insane

seriously though i'm scared what the fuck do we do

game is over
the fat lady is about to sing

the forum will slow down to a more lax pace for a while but eventually get gains when we actually get some new users later on and stablize, as said in the other thread "we don't need 800+ spam posts in a day to be considered active", there's nothing to worry about.

RTC and dogman only think that the forum will die without them because they're both complete egomaniacs and mistakenly believe their worthless shitposts like "no" and "check out my gay fucking maps" are vital to the forum

also Icy and Magician have proven that we can defenitely appeal to people outside of the ROT spectrum, so later on be it necessary we can advertise on other people. basically with RTC and dogman's departure you can see

1. a drop in daily activity
2. a rise in general post quality
3. later on a rise again in daily activity

as i said there's nothing to fret about, it's not going to happen in a day

he doesn't seem to be on the internet much these days considering how on and off he is on skype

also i want to point out that a lot of the 'activity' on OTRepository and other OTX isn't even 'real' activity; especially in OTR's case we saw RTC spamming massive amounts of posts to make the daily activity count look high (on the day where we had 1k he had over a third of the posts) since he believed that if he kept spamming it would cause people to post more (while also drastically lowering the average post quality). with him and the other bitch gone we can hopefully see an increase in daily activity along with a better signal:noise ratio

the daily active post count doesn't determine how active the community, the number of users online and contributing is more what we're looking for and that number isn't too bad at the moment

i think magician is cool enough that getting him back would be easy as "hey come back magician we all miss you", i'd imagine he just has better things to do and just forgot about us or some shit

the absolute best form of advertising is just politely asking someone on your friendslist if they want to join a cool forum you use or something of the sort. keep in mind that we have all the time in the world to renovate OTx, don't get all pessimistic about OTx "dying" just yet. keep in mind that the repository pushed along at an avg. of 3 active posters @ 50-150 posts a day for several months and then things just kind of exploded, this is the same case. whining about how baww otx might die is only going to make the situation worse, if it was bad in the first place.

basically, think of OTRecliner as a fresh slate and enjoy the forum for what it really is - a platform to talk to people! now that we're in this situation we have hundreds of possibilities and opprotunities to turn OTx around from a shitposting bastion to a pretty great place and i plan to seize every chance i can get.

OTR is in a very impressionable area right now, because of the lessened activity we can easily pull in newcomers. you know when you see a site you want to join but it's difficult to fit in because you're new as fuck and the place has a long ass history? otrec being relatively fresh helps prevent this which means we can get more members that will stay.

I'm going to agree with Ammy. Including, Magician IS 20, meaning he is a legal adult. He could be doing something like trying to find a job.
