"On March 19, 2013, Lane was sentenced to life in prison without parole. During his sentencing, Lane took off a blue shirt to reveal a white T-shirt with the word "KILLER" written on it, and was smiling. At the end of his sentencing, Lane flashed a middle finger at the victims' families and said "This hand that pulled the trigger that killed your sons now masturbates to the memory. Fuck all of you."

probably not the greatest of ideas in hindsight but i guess then he's serving a life sentence with no parole so why would it matter

Students at the Lake Academy denied that he had been bullied. They described him as friendly and nice, but not very talkative.[2] The Academy students were also concerned about the depiction of them in the press as "at risk." The school's Director of Special Education said that the students prefer to be referred to as "kids who need a different setting to succeed."[35]
