he basically puts into perspective how and why a bunch of game companies are scared shitless of nothing


example: final fantasy was praised for its turn based j-rpg combat, and then square just up and decided people were getting tired of it one day, then they added all of the shitty action elements to it in some of the newer ones

square tried to make the "classic final fantasy" feel of gameplay with bravely default, and (surprisingly!) people really liked it because of that. they have stated that they are now greatly interested in making more games following that formula.

and he also goes into how other companies are doing similar things

fearing that the gamers are too bored of shit that was actually entertaining
