halo 5 in 2015

after halo 4, and i ask this seriously. WHO CARES? between halo 3 and 4 about 2 million players were bled and maybe 2/3rds left halo 4 feeling disappointed

i know i always say this microsoft doesn't have any ips left to kill except titanfall, and we'll see how much that affects when the charts get put up on vgchartz

i think it can work, but they'll definitely need to step it up

i don't think ONE "okay" game can jeopardize an entire franchise as easily as you /v/ insists. if that were the case, nearly all franchises you can name now would be dead. besides, i see halo still has a good following. there are plenty who are willing to purchase the next entry.

gee i don't know mega. halo 3 went out of print a while back, and it was 11 million units on an install base smaller than what it's at now. halo 4 is still floating around and it has 9 million buyers on an 80 million or so install base.

that's pretty bad, and we all know halo 4 didn't exactly move systems. halo 5 has a 1/9th to work with, that's like 500,000 (maybe more like 1,200,000 after titanfall and the holidays being generous) and after that to sell any more it'll have to be a killer app. you look at odst sales, 6.22 million, and reach sales, 9.53 million, and sure it wasn't the big game like halo 3 was but it still indicates that the halo high people were on from the first two games was over. halo 5 is continuing a story with a 9 million install base and that tends to mean that its sales will be somewhere below that, etc etc. there's a lot of factors. it might "save" the bone and it might not which is why nobody is treating halo 5 like the xbox one's smashkart because a sales boost is "likely" instead of "guaranteed"

dude halo doesn't move consoles any more, 9 million out of 80 million is pretty rough especially when compared to 1/3 for the original halo, 2/5 for halo 2 and 1/7 for halo 3

nigga why are we talking about saving the xbox one? it's pretty much at a solid 2nd place (and much closer to PS4 than the original xbox was with PS2)
