ok so basically this entire trilogy is about some post apocalyptic world in which somehow america has ceased to be (as if) and it centers around some random girl who has a name that starts with a k (lol)

anyways this girl gets reaped by whoever the hell along with every other 12-18 year old in the entirety of her part of the world which is about on par with a third world country apparently - and then her sister gets picked for this bullshit event called the hunger games and why they hold these is bullshit too i mean seriously why the hell would you punish a bunch of americans with a game in which they send a total of twenty four people to kill eachother that sounds hilarious not awful

regardless our protagonist who i dont feel like referring to by name takes her place and some other gay named peeta gets chosen

then the book gets boring for about two hundred pages and the hunger games happens and seriously who caaaaaares and then they challenge the capitol or whatever and shit gets real!!!!!!

tl;dr hunger games book 1 is ok but its pretty boring most of the time

i bought the trilogy spinny and i spent a day reading it and it was pretty boring most of the time about half the book (so about 180 pages) is devoted to not the hunger games or anything particularly interesting
