at the very end of the game, you get to pick a future technology (you can research all of them but you need fuckloads of time and thousands of all resources)
missile shield prevents icbms and cruise missiles from landing in your territory
illuminati government thing makes all victory countdowns instant
global commerce or whatever gives you stealth bombers that can only be hurt by jets and unstoppable fighter jets that are better than normal jets and makes your resource limit per second +999 and gives you 50% more per second
artificial intelligence makes everything spawn instantly when you queue it

Re: rise of nations
hes saying it runs on windows 8 in general hes not talking about surfacesspinnythings wrote:well because of the surface's processor it cant run certain applicationsseth wrote:a 2003 game won't run?

it will run on surface pro because it has an x86-64 processor and won't on RT because of a variety of reasons, namely the ARM architecture is incompatible with x86 and RT doesnt let you install 3rd party applications to the desktop interface
there might be compatibility issues with running it on 8 on a desktop, had some troubles getting TH06 to work like it should on 8

Re: rise of nations
also getting an X86 application to run on ARM is as easy as compiling the source code on an ARM processor

Re: rise of nations
it's a little more complicated than that since arm processors have different architecture for that assembly code to compile to (endianness for example is a tiny change but it's the difference between 1000 and 0001)
if the software was designed to be cross-architecture, it is that simple, though

most software designed in the early 2000s era was not designed to run on arm budammmmy wrote:Quit using shitty compilers;-, nerd.seth wrote:it's a little more complicated than that since arm processors have different architecture for that assembly code to compile to (endianness for example is a tiny change but it's the difference between 1000 and 0001)

Re: rise of nations
You don't have access to the source code to compile it for ARM in the first place; budseth wrote:most software designed in the early 2000s era was not designed to run on arm budammmmy wrote:Quit using shitty compilers;-, nerd.seth wrote:it's a little more complicated than that since arm processors have different architecture for that assembly code to compile to (endianness for example is a tiny change but it's the difference between 1000 and 0001)
