bad or good? should we do more to keep kids away from them? are you against the rising trend of games generally becoming more and more callous and gory?

i play violent video games and guess what thats right it turned me into a psycho path

i dont wanna rehash the old overused argument but i gotta agree if you yourself don't want your kid exposed to shit then don't let him play it because at least over in the states you're not allowed to buy an M-rated game without an id

there are a ton of games that are over-the-top needlessly violent though i dont give a fuck if i can cut a dude in half with a chainsaw and see his intestines splatter on my face that's just disgusting and tasteless

they're not raising their kids right then if they feel it's bad but don't do shit about it

the restrictions in place prevent the kid from buying a violent/obscene game if their parents circumvent it then its their fault

if the parent doesn't care about the current restrictions it probably won't help to add more

they know they're buying an m-rated game the cashier is required to tell them that they need their id to purchase the game and usually if they're with a kid they'll say something about it being violent

the us has a bit of a violence oriented culture for something like that to work you need to have a large number of people (including the customer/target audience) against the idea in the first place which would come from kids growing up less complacent with violence and obscenities which i don't think is gonna happen

just try your best to not sell violent content to minors and instead of optionally warning parents make it lawful to warn anyone purchasing the game of the violence inside if ya think it's that much of an issue

if you don't have an id you can't buy it it's as simple as that

you can get a parent or a dude over 17 to buy it for you but no law will prevent this from being circumvented unless you explicitly ban the content from everyone which would not go over well

if you detonated every gaymin pc in the us there wouldn't be protests in the street

the esrb has the legal jurisdiction to change the qualifications for their ratings (which are by law) though so you can get an excessively violent game into the ao rating which means it can't be sold in stores
