it was going to be fuckin awesome but it got rushed completely ruined

It essentially became a genocide simulator, it's the easiest and most fun way to play.
Cells, eat small fuckers, avoid big fuckers.
Animals - Look for weak fuckers and devour them, maybe eat some fruit while travelling.
Tribals - Break out the fucking tomahawks.
Countries - Blitzkrieg your way across the continent, unlock ICBMs, deploy them.
Space - Wipe out all the weak empires when you start out and use the spoils of war to kick-start your empire, find a trader empire and another warrior empire to trade with for cheaper shit, eventually unlock the high-end weapons and use your massive stock-piles of money from all your colonies you should have at this stage to buy stockpiles of planet busters and destroy the home worlds of any empire that looks at you funny.

I can't fathom why anyone would take the hippie route on any of the stages.

Just use the environmental tools to make their worlds liveable while dodging their ships, they can't live on any world that can support some form of life so all their cities blow up.

Grox empire is piss, just invest in the uber-turrets and have all your cities fully equip with mounted turrets. All their ships will get destroyed without you having to even return to defend.
Said defence wipes out pirates and any invading empire a split-second after the attack is announced which is always amusing.

Fuck it I even destroyed all their colonies in my empire's wing of the galaxy.

i had a magazine from 2005 that said it was gonna be the coolest shit of all time it comes out in 2007 and the game is literally a space simulator (they even came out with galactic adventures as an expansion pack) with a two hour intro

city mode was way funner than space to me you can't fucking play space without having to deal with your allies demanding you work for them and gay shit

not the biggest waste of $50 i ever spent though that would be matched by some shitty animation program that was supposed to be super easy to use called 'animation studio'

You don't really need your allies any-more once you unlock the higher end stuff so I betrayed them because I didn't like how close they were to my home world.

Yeah.

I was easily destroying the "OMFG THEY'RE SOOOO HARD HOLY SHIT THEY RAPED ME" Grox so it's like I had to be buddies with anyone.
Every single planet I owned had strong enough defences to stop an invasion without my direct help within seconds of the attack being announced.

I remember once some Empire demanded money from me so I abducted loads of citizens from their home world and landed them on some planet with no civilisation.
