just like everything else in the universe galaxies are affected by gravity and two things that absolutely contribute to the rotation is the rotation of its stars as well as dark matter

there is however an issue with the resulting rotation curve discounting dark matter in the universe therefore two solutions exist: consider dark matter as being a factor or modify the laws of gravity to fit this specific issue

such as science goes the second option is retarded but it's happened before

also what are quasars
