lets discuss probably the worst wikipedia knockoff ever, citizendium
citizendium.org
it was made in response to criticisms about OMG EVERYONE CAN EDIT WIKIPEDIA SO ITS UNRELIABLE, so the only people who can edit are people with PhDs which went about as well as you can expect, the site gets ~5 edits per month because as it happens most phds are too busy having sexy wives and money to make than to edit some shitty website on the interbutt (especially when they can just edit wikipedia and not endure the gruelling signup process)
rationalwiki's page on the site is one of the first results on google for the site and it just shits all over it, and so does every other result when you search for it (bar ironically the wikipedia page for it, which is very mildly toned)

the argument against using wikipedia at all that my 6th grade computers teacher told us (not just school research/work) was that someone could go to the brain surgery article and write a guide about how to do it and then a doctor (you!!!) would read it and it would be wrong
