"It has been revealed today that Nintendo won’t allow top fighting game tournament EVO to stream Super Smash Bros Melee. The news came about when fighting game news site Shoruyken – which is run by the people behind the tournament – published the Evo schedule update.

Games that will feature at this year’s event include Mortal Kombat and Injustice as well as Super Street Fighter and Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Interestingly the Smash Bros Melee community raised around $95,000 for Evo’s charity fundraiser for breast cancer research. By raising that money the fans earned Melee an inclusion in this year’s tournament. There’s a hashtag for complaining about this on Twitter. #freemelee."

not only did they quickly revert this, but they also went and backed away a little from the whole lp thing (albeit this took a far longer time)
