here's what you can do spinny

if you want to spend like $0 you can hook up a battery to an led and a pushbutton or switch with wires or alligator clips and make a little flashlight or put electricity into salt water and perform electrolysis

if you want to spend like $10 you could buy one of those electronics kits from radioshack

if you want to actually give your project a 'brain' you're going to find it easiest to use a microprocessor kit - go with arduino for price or parallax for BASIC programming like a pussy - with this you can just plug in electronics to it and do whatever the fuck you want the kits are around $20 to $30 and act like computers

if you want to spend around $50 you can make yourself a robot controlled by one of the above microcontrollers

install debian onto that shit without a fucking GUI

type "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade"

show the resulting mess of text to your teacher

instant A+ and certification to go to the college of your choice

two leds

my leds are multicolor for maximum ricer so if you add ground to the other two pins it turns green and red respectively and it can mix colors too

spinny for reference this is how you would send voltage with a circuit like what you have

digitalWrite(whereveryouhavethewireorpin, HIGH); turns it on
digitalWrite(whereveryouhavethewireorpin, LOW); turns it off or makes it ground
